The Property Council of Australia has warmly welcomed Romilly Madew’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Infrastructure Australia.
“During her 13 years at the helm of the Green Building Council of Australia, Romilly has brought tremendous energy and vision to the role, reshaping how we think about our built environment,” said Ken Morrison, Chief Executive of the Property Council of Australia.
“As a highly effective advocate and advisor to industry and government, she has strengthened Australia’s global reputation as a leader in sustainability in the built environment.
“She understands how cities function, which will be critical in this new infrastructure role at a time when Australia’s governments and communities focus on the need to better plan and invest for a growing population,” Mr Morrison said.
As the independent advisor to the Australian Government on nationally significant infrastructure priorities, Infrastructure Australia’s role is vital in assessing and recommending those projects best suited to support growth, improve productivity and enhance the liveability of our cities and regions.
“Infrastructure Australia has raised the bar in how we think about and make decisions on our national infrastructure requirements, and we look forward to continuing to work with IA under Romilly Madew’s leadership on the opportunities ahead,” Mr Morrison said.
Note: Ken Morrison is a director of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). Ms Madew was the ACT Executive Director of the Property Council from 2002-05.
