SPRINGFIELD: Satellite City with Substance
Last Thursday more than 130 young property professionals attended the final FUTURE DIRECTIONS event for 2007, Springfield - Satellite city with substance.

Greater Springfield has been well documented as being a visionary, but often a criticised development in the outlying areas of Ipswich. Over the past 15 years, this once mocked precinct has developed into a desirable and affordable residential development with a strong community focus. There is more to this area than residential dwellings - with the announcement and near completion of a new data centre, along with world class educational, commercial and health related facilities; Springfield is beginning to come of age.

Chris Schroor gave attendees an insight into how Greater Springfield is creating the ‘extraordinary’ from the ‘ordinary’. He presented the key commercial initiatives underway to help create a digital city for more than 100,000 residents, and discuss how Greater Springfield is creating new business offerings through innovation and integration.

Andrew Whitson presented Greater Springfield’s lifestyle mantra, and how this is creating a new lifestyle phenomenon in South East Queensland. He addressed how record price growth is being reached in areas such as Brookwater, and what the future holds for community creation in the new CBD.
