2006 Future Directions
4th Annual Lawn Bowls Tournament
Last Friday 25th
August saw almost 200 young lawn bowls enthusiasts gather at
Merthyr Road Bowls Club to compete in the 4th Annual FD’s
Lawn Bowls Tournament. Held on one of the hottest days this
winter, teams and supporters decked out in team shirts and
caps to try their luck at lawn bowls. Whilst some bowlers
were better than others, the laughs emanating from the green
highlighted the enjoyment had by all.
The day was a huge success with special mention to RCP who
won the tournament after having the highest score at the end
of the rounds. The winners – John Tyson, Greg Atkinson,
Andrew McLean and Matt Royals, were the deserving recipients
of double passes to the musical production “The Full Monty”.
Special mention must also go to the winners of the “donkey
prize”, Ernst & Young, who scored the lowest amount of
points after the rounds. The team, Justin Reidy, Cameron
Chatwood, Doninique Miller and Narelle Champ were the worthy
receivers of a cricket set.
