2005: The year that’s been….
Future Direction’s has had yet another
successful year! With each of it’s events often having attendees
hanging from the rafters!
In 2005 the Rugby Club was once again been the showcase to a fantastic
line up of industry leaders. A panel of experts including Ken Brownjohn (Rider Hunt), Peter Bates (Bovis Lend Lease) and Martin
Spinks (Consolidated Properties) have debated issues surrounding
rising construction costs.
Col Nichols (Seymour Group) provided us with a snapshot of the
development industry in Brisbane over the past twenty years and his
views as to where our city is heading over the next twenty. Russell
De Barros (Bloomberg Incorporation) gave us a virtual tour and
incredible insight into one of Brisbane’s most interesting and
talked about projects, the recently completed Riparian Plaza.
Ecologically Sustainable Development is a hot topic in the property
world at the moment and once again the FUTURE DIRECTIONS series was
there to present a relevant discussion on one of the country’s most
applauded ESDs. Chris Carolan (Bovis Lend Lease) gave an in depth
overview of ’30 The Bond, Sydney’ which is the first office building
in Australia to commit to a five star energy rating.
