Dr Linda Yueh, Fellow in Economics – Oxford University

Dr Linda Yueh is an economist specialising in global imbalances, economic growth and the rise of emerging economies.

She is a fellow in economics at Oxford University, a senior fellow at the London Business School and also directs the China Growth Centre at St Edmund Hall (Oxford).

Her work has examined major economies including China, Britain, the United States and Europe, as well as smaller economies.

Brian Haratsis, Managing Director – MacroPlan

Brian Haratsis is highly regardes as one of Australia's foremost strategic advisors. His focus is on private sector property involvement, understanding communities, tourism and social trends.

Brian has more than 20 years' experience as an economist, futurist and strategic planner.

The voice of the Australia 2050 project, Brian has also been a key analyst in many major developments, including Eureka Towers and the QV building.

Noel Pearson, Founder – Cape York Institute for Policy & Leadership

Noel Pearson is one of the most influential Aboriginal Australians – a lawyer, land rights activist and founder of the Cape York Institute for Policy & Leadership, an organisation promoting the economic and social development of indigenous peoples.

While he continues to champion land rights, Pearson has also been striving for wholesale indigenous policy shift, notably in relation to welfare, economic development and indigenous participation in the "real economy".

Jennifer Westacott, National Leader Partner – KPMG

KPMG's National Lead Partner for Climate Change, Water and Sustainability, Jennifer Westacott also holds a number of public sector positions.

She is Chair of the South Australian Public Sector Performance Commission, and also a Commissioner on the Commonwealth Grants and South Australian Sustainable Budget Commissions.

She has more than 20 years experience as a senior public servant in NSW and Victoria.

Andrew Bird - AMP Capital

   Andrew is the Director of AMP Capital Investors’ $16 billion property investment and
   management business. With over 32 years’ experience in the property industry in Australia,
   the UK and Asia Pacific, Andrew oversees the fund management of property assets for
   external clients, significant private client portfolios and opportunistic funds along with the
   development of new property business initiatives. In addition, he supervises AMP Capital’s
   substantial property investment services including asset management, retail, commercial
   and industrial property management, development, research and investment strategy and
   capital transactions.

Professor Ed Blakely, Chair of Urban & Regional Planning – University of Sydney

Professor Blakely has been involved in massive US reconstruction projects following disasters, including New Orleans (Hurricane Katrina), San Francisco (1989 earthquakes) and New York (September 11).

He holds a BA in History, Political Science and Economics and an MA in History and Development Studies from the University of California.

Christopher Brown, Managing Director – Tourism & Transport Forum

Christopher Brown has been Managing Director of the Tourism & Transport Forum – which comprises 200 CEOs in Australian transport, property, tourism, aviation and investment – since 1992.

He is also the Founder and Deputy Chair of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.

Melissa Chandler, BCA Consultant Lend Lease Design

Melissa is a BCA Consultant with Lend Lease Design. A qualified building surveyor with qualifications in fire safety engineering, she has more than 17 years experience in the industry. Melissa is part of the Property Council's Regulation Review Taskforce.

Tim Church, Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Australasia – UBS Investment Bank

Tim Church has been involved in raising more than $20 billion in new capital in the listed property sector, including the largest ever property trust IPO, the Commonwealth Property Office Fund.

He has carried out a large number of follow-on offerings for groups including Mirvac, Australand, Westfield, and ING Group.

David Fordham, Director – Fordham Media Services

An ambassador for Fosters Australia, Tourism Queensland, Hope Island Resort, Callaway Golf and the Australian Palliative Care Fund, David was also elected to the board of the Sony Foundation in Australia in 2007.

   Robert Harley has covered property for the AFR for more than 20 years.

Nick Harris - The GPT Group

   Nicholas is responsible for GPT’s funds management activities, including the
   development of the Group’s funds management platform and the creation of new
   products. Nicholas joined GPT in mid 2006. Nicholas has been involved in the
   Australian property and property funds management industry for over 20 years,
   including seven years with BT Funds Management Limited and five years with Lend
   Lease as Fund Manager of the Lend Lease Real Estate Partners series of funds.

Daniel Grollo – Grocon Pty Ltd

After joining Grocon in the late 1980s Daniel Grollo worked through his carpentry apprenticeship to eventually take over the business from his father in 1999.

Grocon has recently expanded into Queensland and is working on two projects on the Gold Coast and one in Brisbane.

Paul Howes, National Secretary – The Australian Workers Union

Paul joined the national office of the AWU in 2003 as National Organiser, responsible for the alumina, mining and steel industries for the AWU across Australia.

Elected in 2005 as National Vice President, he was the youngest person in the history of the union to hold a national leadership position.

He serves on a number of boards, including Australia's largest superannuation fund Australian Super.

Bob Johnston, Managing Director – Australand Holdings

Prior to his appointment as Managing Director in 2007, Bob Johnston held a number of senior management positions with Lend Lease in the US, UK, Asia and Australia – his last position as Global CEO of Bovis Lend Lease.

He has more than 20 years experience in the property industry.

Pete King - Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC)

   Pete is a Portfolio Manager with Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) in the
   Private Markets team. VFMC provides investment and funds management services to
   Victorian public authorities.

   His role involves responsibility for and management of investments in a $A2.5 billion
   portfolio of predominantly core unlisted property funds in Australia (approximately 20 funds)
   together with a smaller portfolio of core plus and opportunistic funds (10 funds) both in
   Australia and internationally.

Lindsay Leeser, Director Development Pacific – Accor

Based in Sydney, Lindsay Leeser is responsible for the development and growth of the Accor network in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce, Tourism & Hospitality Management and Marketing.

Paul Low - CEO Growth Management Qld

   Paul has extensive experience in various professional disciplines, including transport
   planning and policy, urban and regional planning and infrastructure investment. This has
   included public sector roles in economic development and transport agencies in
   Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia., as well as infrastructure investment
   roles in the private sector and local government.

Ray H. Mackey Jr, Chair and Chief Elected Officer, BOMA International

A BOMA member since 1984, Ray Mackey Jr has been active in BOMA at both within the US and internationally. He served two terms on the BOMA International Executive Committee, and has been involved in numerous BOMA committees.

Ian Mackie - LaSalle Investment Management

   Ian Mackie joined the Jones Lang LaSalle group in 1978, and is currently the Head of
   Private Equity for LaSalle Investment Management in Asia. Based in Singapore, Mr. Mackie
   oversees the acquisitions function across the region and is responsible for US$10.5 billion
   of assets under management.

Glenn McGrath AO, former Australian cricketer, Co-Founder and Chairman of the McGrath Foundation

One of the most highly regarded fast bowlers in Australia's cricketing history, Glenn McGrath established the McGrath Foundation to raise funds and support people with breast cancer. The Foundation provides funding for nursing services nationally, with particular emphasis on rural and regional areas.

James McGregor, Energy Systems Manager – CSIRO Division of Energy Technology

James McGregor's division undertakes business development and project management of major science initiatives. His knowledge of greenhouse science is backed up by experience in infrastructure management, sustainability in the built environment, and renewable energy systems.

Ken Morrison - Property Council of Australia

   Ken Morrison is the Chief Operating Officer of the Property Council of Australia, the nation’s
   advocate for the $600 billion property industry.

 

   Ken’s role is to drive a strategic review of the organisation and oversee the growth of its
   national business operations. Prior to taking up this, Ken was the Property Council’s NSW
   Executive Director responsible for all advocacy, public affairs and business operations in
   NSW. He has played a significant role in shaping tax, planning and infrastructure policy in
   NSW over the last decade
.

Tom Murcott, Executive Vice President - Gale International

   Tom Murcott is Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Gale International. In
   this capacity, he provides oversight for all corporate and project communications programs.
   Most recently, Mr. Murcott was a founding partner of Renegade, a New York City-based,
   integrated marketing services firm.

Bryon Price, Director – AG Coombs Group

An engineer with notable experience in energy efficiency and sustainability, Bryon Price is non-executive director of the Facility Management Association of Australia, the peak body for Australia's facilities management industry.

David Rolls, Chief Executive Officer Development – Lend Lease

With 25 years experience in property, construction, design and development, David Rolls has directed Lend Lease projects including Victoria Harbour in Melbourne's Docklands, Barangaroo in Sydney, and Brisbane's RNA redevelopment.

Pru Sanderson - VicUrban

   Pru Sanderson joined VicUrban in June 2006. After graduating with honours in
   architecture Pru worked as a conservation architect on many sites including
   Parliament House and Como. She then held senior positions in relation to major
   infrastructure projects; as Design Manager for the Melbourne Museum and Manager of
   Development and Operations for Federation Square, and in local government with City
   of Melbourne and City of Whitehorse. Immediately prior to VicUrban Pru was CEO of
   Monash Property Management Pty Ltd. She is on the Board of Directors of the
   Zoological Parks and Gardens.

 

Raynuha Sinnathamby - Springfield Land Corporation

   Raynuha is Deputy Managing Director of Springfield Land Corporation and works across
   the company’s various business units to develop strategy and manage the various business
   initiatives. Raynuha joined Springfield Land Corporation as Director (Corporate) in 1998 and
   has worked on the group’s major projects including Springfield and the development of
   Warner Shopping Centre.

 

 

Michael Skelton, Research & Knowledge Manager Australia New Zealand – Davis Langdon

Michael has led numerous studies for Davis Langdon, across the public and private sectors. He will bring to Congress 2010 new research from Davis Langdon concerning population growth and infrastructure investment.

Peter Verwer, Chief Executive – Property Council of Australia

 

Peter Verwer leads the Property Council, Australia's leading advocate for the $600 billion commercial property industry. Its advocacy priorities include tax modernisation, sustainability and regulatory reform. Peter is a member of numerous public and private sector bodies, and is establishing a global real estate policy alliance.

Peter Williams, CEO – Deloitte Digital

One of Australia's leading thinkers on innovation and on-line, mobile and emerging technology, Peter Williams is a partner at Deloitte and CEO of the group's online accounting and consulting services division. He has 13 years experience as a corporate recovery and insolvency expert.

Daryl Wilson, Finance Director – Cromwell Group
